In 2016 the Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works carried out around 140 capital repairs of machinery. Investments into the project totaled 17 billion rubles.
According to Severstal Russian steel repairs division director Sergey Dobrodey, the program presupposed basic repairs, as well as energy efficiency, safety and product quality improvement.
4 blast furnaces, 2 sintering machines, the main machinery of the steel-smelting complex, rolling mills and other equipment were renovated. (Ukrainian metal)
