Ukraine: scrap export down in January 2022

In January, Ukraine exported 5.69 thousand tons of scrap, down by 70.4% YoY. According to the State Customs Service, in monetary terms exports dropped by 56.9%, to $2.58 million. The Ukrainian Association of Secondary Metals (UAVtormet) forecasts that this year ferrous scrap procurement will decrease following a growth in 2021.
