In 2015 Ukraine produced 22935 thousand tons of steel, down by 15.5%, or by 4209 thousand tons YoY.
Metallurgprom believes Ukraine will produce 1.8 million tons of steel, 1.5 million tons of rolled metal and 1.8 million tons of pig iron in February.

In November Ukraine increased its steel output by 3.1% YoY, to 1.88 million tons. This allowed it to keep 10th position among 66 steel manufacturers, according to the World Steel Association.

In 2015 Ukrainian metal companies are expected to produce 23 million tons of steel, 22 million tons of pig iron and 20 million tons of rolled metal, all down by 15%, 11% and 16% YoY respectively.
Ukraine’s steel production fell by 17% in 11 months, to 21 million tons, mostly due to the military conflict in the east of the country where most of its steel plants are based.
