In 2014 steel output in Ukraine decreased by 16.9%, or by 5508 thousand tons, to 27161 thousand tons, YoY.
Ukraine in December 2014 saw a 28.5% decline in steel output YoY, to 1.903 million tons, being the 11th in the rating compiled by the World Steel Association (Worldsteel) of the 65 main steel producing nations.
According to the World Steel Association, in December 2014 Ukraine went up to 11th position in the leading world steel manufacturers rating, leaving behind Italy that fell to the 13th place.
In 2014 Ukrainian metal companies produced 27.16 million tons of steel, down by 16.9% YoY.
