RG Gold, developing the Raigorodok deposit in Akmola region, could suspend gold extraction using heap leaching this year.
“Because of the thinning of oxidized ore we, most likely, will have to suspend operation and mothball heap leaching manufacture,” the financial director Marat Shaimardanov has said.
RG Gold is using two types of processing capacities with the combine volume of 7 million tons of ore per year. One accounts for 2 million tons in heap leaching. The other 5 million tons are extracted at the quarry and can be processed at a recently built plant operating with the carbon in pulp method.
The capacity of the company is 180 thousand ounces of gold per year.
Last year, RG Gold extracted 190 thousand ounces. (Ukrainian metal)
