KAZ Minerals Bozshakol has decided to expand its central quarry.
According to the company specialists, ore reserves at the main deposit amount to around 1 billion tons. This is enough for 40 years of operation.
When the quarry is exhausted, its depth will exceed 400 meters.
With the expansion of the quarry, the company has updated its fleet. KAZ Minerals Bozshakol has invested $19 million in new Caterpillar trucks with the capacity of 180 tons. 6 trucks were purchased.
The development of the quarry began in December 2015, and in February 2016 the first concentrate was produced. In 8 years of operation, 215 million tons of copper ore were extracted. (Ukrainian metal)
