Azovstal was created in 1933. It has the size of 11 square km and before the break of the war it employed 10.7 thousand people.

The plant provided for $2.6 billion of exports, or 3.8% of all Ukrainian exports.

Since 2013, over $1 billion has been invested in Azovstal.

Last year, the company produced 4.34 million tons of steel, up by 3.5% YoY, or one fifth of steel produced in Ukraine, as well as 4.1 million tons of rolled metal (+4.1%) and 3.8 million tons of pig iron (unchanged).

Azovstal was one of the main suppliers of slabs to the European market accounting for 30%. (Ukrainian metal)
