SCM intends to rebuild the destroyed metal plants in Mariupol after it is freed from the Russian occupants.
“Our plants in Mariupol will never, under no circumstances, work under occupation. We will restore them only under the Ukrainian banner,” the SCM PR director Natalia Yemchenko has said.
In 2014-2022, the city was a showcase of the Ukrainian Donbass.
“Mariupol was quickly modernizing in all directions and becoming very attractive to live it. And we, as owners of two metal giants in the city, employing around 40 thousand people, invested hundreds of millions of dollars into the city development”, she added.
Before the invasion, the metal plants of Metinvest prepared the bomb shelters for long siege creating substantial reserves of food, water, medicine and fuel. The defence of Azovstal became a legend. (Ukrainian metal)
