The department of the domestic market protection of the Eurasian Economic Committee has suggested introducing a 5-year antidumping duty on galvanized rolled metal imported from Ukraine and China.

The investigation was initiated by MMK, NLMK and Severstal.

EEC analyzed the market situation from January 1, 2015 to June 30, 2019.

In the period the increase in galvanized metal consumption in EAEU was 8% with the import from China and Ukraine increasing by 17.4%.

Average prices grew by 21.9%.

From July 1, 2017 till June 30, 2018 consumption decreased by 2.8%, and imports by 25%, but prices grew by 9%.

From July 1, 2018 till June 30, 2019 imports from China and Ukraine grew by 12.1%, while the demand increased only by 2.9%.

The department suggests imposing a duty of 23.9% for Ukrainian manufacturers and 12.69-17% for Chinese. (Ukrainian metal)
