In January-May Russia exported 17.519 million tons of ferrous metals, down by 8.8% YoY.

According to the Federal Customs Service, without ferroalloys, pig iron, wastes and scrap exports totaled 11.753 million tons, down by 7.6%.

Semi-finished carbon steel exports dropped by 5.6%, to 6.417 million tons, and flat carbon steel – by 13.4%, to 2.926 million tons.

The share of metal and wares in the total exports was 9.5% (10.5% last year). Far foreign countries accounted for 9% (10.2%) and CIS – 13.1% (12.6%).

Aluminum exports grew by 25.4%, ferroalloys – by 21.6%, copper and copper alloys – by 6.3%.

At the same time pig iron exports dropped by 15.5%, flat rolled metal – by 13.4% and semi-finished steel products – by 5.6%.

In May Russia exported 3.192 million tons of ferrous metals, down by 4.2% MoM. (Ukrainian metal)
