In January-August Russia exported 28.057 million tons of ferrous metals, down by 9% YoY.

The export of ferrous metals, not counting pig iron, ferroalloys, wastes and scrap, totaled 18.239 million tons, down by 10.4% YoY.

Sales of carbon steel semi-finished products decreased by 8.4%, to 9.775 million tons, and flat carbon steel – by 14.2%, to 4.674 million tons.

In August Russia exported 3.126 million tons of ferrous metals, down by 14.8% MoM. Exports of semi-finished products totaled 1.002 million tons and flat steel – 0.516 million tons, down by 15% and by 28% respectively.

The share of metal in the overall exports was 9.4% as opposed to 10.3% in 8 months of 2018.

Far foreign countries accounted for 8.7% of exports (9.9% last year) and CIS – 14.1% (13.1%). (Ukrainian metal)
