Specialists have started assembling and welding the first belt of the blast furnace No. 3 jacket at Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works.
Metal structures for the jacket have been produced by Vitkovice, the Czech Republic.
Rolled metal for the jacket was produced at the mill-5000 in Kolpino. With the new jacket the blast furnace will not need to be repaired for 30 years.
The blast furnace No. 3 is expected to be blown in H1 2020. Its design capacity is 3.1 million tons of pig iron per year. (Ukrainian metal)
