Kyshtym Electrolytic Copper Plant has carried out a scheduled repair of its main copper-smelting machine – the MAERZ furnace with the volume of 380 tons and the capacity of 125 thousand tons of anode copper per year.
The furnace was shut down for only 24 hours.
20 tons of refractory bricks were used in repair.
The previous repair of the furnace was carried out in late May and lasted for 5 days.
Next time the furnace will be shut down for repair in February-March 2019. (Ukrainian metal)
