Russia: KMEZ assembles new cranes in copper foil shop

Kyshtym Electrolytic Copper Plant has assembled two bridge remote-controlled cranes in its copper foil shop, which is currently under construction.

The new machinery with the lifting capacity of 10 tons was produced by Verta.

When the two cranes are commissioned, the two old 5-ton cranes will be disassembled. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: KMEZ buys new electric forklifts

Kyshtym Electrolytic Copper Plant has received new Linde electric forklifts.

The machines have been sent to the railroad and copper wire rod shops.

They will be used to load products into containers.

The forklifts operate on lithium-ion batteries, thus not polluting the closed premises. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: KMEZ finishes assembly of new gas-purifying equipment

Kyshtym Electrolytic Copper Plant has assembled the main equipment of the LUHR gas filter.

It is used to purify gases of the main copper-smelting machine of the company – the MAERZ furnace.

The filter is expected to be commissioned this year.

The cost of the project is 200 million rubles. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: KMEZ assembling new conveyers to transport copper cathodes

Kyshtym Electrolytic Copper Plant has started assembling new conveyer system in the copper electrolysis shop.

The machinery will transport empty matrixes, matrixes with cathode leftovers and anodes.

While assembling the new conveyers the manufacture has not been stopped.

Commissioning is scheduled for July.

Russia: KMEZ introduces new copper wire rod packing scheme

Kyshtym Electrolytic Copper Plant is improving the quality of packaging.

The new scheme of copper wire rod packaging prevents damage in transit.

The novelty has to do with the increase of the coil compression, which makes it more compact. Such coils are less subject to vibration in transit, and thus, to damages. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: KMEZ to assemble new gas-purifying equipment

Kyshtym Electrolytic Copper Plant will assemble a new complex on MAERZ furnace gas purifying valued at 200 million rubles.

Purification will reach 99%, and the total square of filtration will be 4.5 thousand square meters.

The new gas-purifying equipment will be commissioned in H2 2018. (Ukrainian metal)

Russia: KMEZ assembles new electrolysis baths

Kyshtym Electrolytic Copper Plant has finished the assembly of two additional rows of electrolysis baths within the program to increase copper cathode capacities.

Each row includes 40 ferroconcrete baths.

The project will increase cathode output by 16.7%, to 140 thousand tons per year.

Investments in the modernization are estimated at 420 million rubles. (Ukrainian metal)
