In January-March Ukraine mined 8.359 million tons of coal, up by 19.3% YoY.
According to the Ministry of energy and coal industry, coking coal output dropped by 9.9%, to 1.614 million tons, and that of power-generating coal – by 21.3%, to 6.744 million tons.
In March coal mining grew by 1.3%, to 3.024 million tons.
Coal companies, operating under the ministry, in January-March mined 1.186 million tons of coal, down by 10.6% YoY, including 150.6 thousand tons of coking coal, down by 46.3%, and 1.035 million tons of power-generating coal, down by 1.1%.
Donetsk region mines obtained 2.934 million tons of coal, down by 17.2% YoY, Lugansk region mines – 146.3 thousand tons, down by 89.6%, Dnepropetrovsk region – 4.838 million tons, down by 2.7%, Lviv – 409.4 thousand tons, up by 2.7%, and Volyn region mines – 29.9 thousand tons, down by 6%.
