In 2017 Russian Railroads throughput increased by 3.2% YoY, to 1.261 billion tons.

According to the company statement, coal transportation grew by 9.1% YoY, to 358.5 million tons, iron and manganese ores – by 0.9%, to 110.5 million tons, ferrous metals – by 2.8%, to 73 million tons, and ferrous scrap – by 4.8%, to 15.7 million tons.

At the same time coke railroad transportation dropped by 4.7% YoY, to 11.2 million tons, while that of non-ferrous metals ores and sulfur raw materials – by 4.1%, to 20.2 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
