In January-August Ukraine exported 25.78 million tons of iron ore and concentrate valued at $1.744 billion.

According to the State Fiscal Service, this constituted a 6.3% share in the total exports.

The largest batches of ore were shipped to China ($496.279 million, or 28.4% of the total exports), Slovakia ($192.498 million, 11%) and Austria ($191.821 million, 11%). Other countries imported $863.693 million worth of iron ore (49.5%).

Imports in 8 months reached 204.889 thousand tons valued at $21,807 million. The largest supplier was Russia ($21.751 million, or 99.7%). Iron ore share in total imports reached 0.07%.

In August Ukraine exported 3.093 million tons of iron ore and concentrate valued at $199 million. The largest batches were sent to China ($53.756 million), Slovakia ($29.188 million) and Austria ($29.088 million). Other countries imported $86.974 million worth of iron ore.

According to the State Fiscal Service, iron ore exports in 2016 totaled 39.203 million at $1.827 billion, with the share of 5% in the overall exports volume. Imports reached 120.59 thousand tons at $148.81 million. (Ukrainian metal)
