Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Works has produced the 250-millionth ton of hot-rolled metal since its mill 2000 was put into operation in 1969.

This volume equals to the weight of 39 Great Pyramids of Giza or 1500 Burj-Khalifas.

The first Soviet mill of the third generation – mill 2000 – with the capacity of 5.78 million tons per year was a unique event in the world machine-tool construction of the time. The capacity of 6 million tons was exceeded in 10 years. This is a record for sheet-rolling mills and has no rivals neither in local, nor in world metallurgy.

At present the four industrial sites of the hot-rolling mill produce around 6 million tons of metal per year, employing over 700 people.

In 5 years NLMK hot-rolled metal output increased by 11%, to 6.24 million tons. In 2016 the company reached another manufacturing record, producing 6.243 million tons for the first times in 15 years. (Ukrainian metal)
