Severstal has started assembling the main technological machinery for the ladle-furnace No. 2 at the steel smelting shop of Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works.
At present the assembly of a 520-ton crane is coming to an end.
“The project costs exceed 3 billion rubles. The new machinery will increase converter steel output to 10 million tons a year”, the Severstal Russian Steel CEO Vadim Germanov said.
The supplier of the machinery is Primetals Technologies Germany GmbH (Austria). The project is scheduled to be complete in Q4. (Ukrainian metal)
