Chelyabinsk Zinc Works, a part of UMMC, carries on its large-scale technical modernization of the indium manufacture.
According to the company spokesperson Natalia Vasilyeva, the works is the largest manufacturer of IN-00 indium with 99.999% metal content in the CIS-countries.
The reconstruction of the hydrometallurgical shop saw the assembly of the new filter-press of FIL-TEC.
The old Russian press has been operating for 37 years. The new equipment will improve product quality and decrease losses. It took the company almost 2 months to install the press. Now it filters some 32 cubic meters of indium-containing pulp per day. (Ukrainian metal)
