As a result of “careless handling of a weapon” at a shooting club, the director of the plant that produced more than 60% of Russian zinc and a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk region, 46-year-old Pavel Izbrekht, died.
The head of the Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant (ChZP) was shooting at the shooting range at the Tsarskaya Okhota shooting complex in the village of Dolgoderevenskoye on April 1 afternoon. He was accompanied by a driver and a security guard. Before leaving the club, Izbrekht got out of the car and wanted to check if his Blaser shotgun was unloaded. But he ended up shooting himself and dying.
“As a result of a tragic accident at the shooting range, CEO Pavel Izbrekht died,” the ChZP press service reported. (URP)
