Interpipe notes positive influence of the scrap export duty decree and supports its prolongation.

“The decree has really helped us. Without it the situation with scrap would have been much worse”, the company finances and economy director Denis Morozov said.

According to him, scrap procurement in Ukraine will continue to drop, so the decree should be prolonged.

“This has to be a long-term strategic approach. If the state is prepared to think of its development, to have more job places and VAT-products, this decree is very important. It has to be prolonged”, he stressed.

“Scrap is a primary raw material, and we believe that it is incorrect that Ukraine sells it”, Morozov added. (Ukrainian metal)
