In January-August Russia imported 2.76 million tons of ferrous metals, down by 1.63% YoY.

Far foreign countries supplied 1.81 million tons of ferrous metals.

According to the Federal Customs Service, steel imports (not counting pig iron, ferroalloys and scrap) decreased by 8.59%, to 2.28 million tons. Steel pipes imports grew by 19.76% YoY, to 0.29 million tons. Both CIS countries and foreign countries increased their supplies – to 0.17 million tons and to 0.12 million tons respectively.
