Metinvest has implemented AI-solutions to control production quality at Zaporizhstal, which will help save around $250 thousand per year.
The artificial intelligence can find faults in slabs production when cutting plates. A fault is highlighted in red on screen. If the fault is not categorized by the system, it is highlighted in yellow. And if there are no faults, the screen shows green.
The precision of the system is 75-85%.
The main saving for Metinvest is the decrease of claims from customers.
The group also saves electricity, since the heated metal is not delayed when cutting. (Ukrainian metal)
