Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Asatur Vardanyan met with a delegation led by Gareth Kirkham, Chair of the Committee for Mineral Reserves International Reporting Standards (CRIRSCO).
Vardanyan emphasized that Armenia’s accession to CRIRSCO was of strategic importance and was part of the country’s mining sector development strategy.
The meeting focused on Armenia’s accession procedures to CRIRSCO, including the technical and legal requirements needed for full membership.
The discussion also included participation from Harutyun Movsisyan, Head of the “Republican Geological Fund” state organization; Vahan Grigoryan, Head of the Subsoil Control Department at the Environmental and Mining Inspectorate; Sargis Kelyan, Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Geology at Yerevan State University; Armen Stepanyan, Director of Sustainable Development at Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine; and Vardan Jhanjyan, President of the Mining and Metallurgy Association of Armenia.
