Interpipe has for the first time produced pipes for offshore operations – extraction of gas at underwater deposits.
According to the company press service, a Turkish customer is using the pipes in the projects of South Akcakoca Sub-Basin (SASB) deposits in the Black Sea. As the deposit is located at the shallow water, the Interpipe pipes are laid underwater.
For the customer, the company has produced compressor-pump pipes with UPJ-M premium joints.
According to the director for the pipe sales to the markets of the Near East, Asia and Africa Artem Artemov, Turkiye is actively developing offshore has deposits in the Black Sea.
“But the extraction conditions are specific, with gas extraction carried out in the shoal water, improved gas tightness is required, which only premium joints can provide. Although for Interpipe this is the first experience with using compressor-pump pipes underwater, the customer’s experience was positive. The products are already is use – the pipe laying has been successful. This is the impetus to participate is similar projects in the future,” he said. (Ukrainian metal)
