Ukraine has imposed 5-year antidumping duties on the import of wire and rolled carbon steel with coating from China.

The duty on coated steel is set at the level of 37-48% depending on the company and on wire – 32.6%.

The Antidumping Committee investigated the dumping of rolled carbon steel with coating from China following a complaint by Modul-Ukraine and Heavy Metal, which jointly accounted for 50% of the products’ output in Ukraine.

The dumping resulted in the increase of product volumes at warehouses by 523.5%, increase in expenses on domestic market by 40645.6% in dollar equivalent and by 40537.2% in UAH equivalent, growth of prime cost by 13.9% and a fall in sales profitability by 1300%.

The wire dumping investigation was initiated by Plazma Tech, the share of which in the market exceeded 50%. Dumping imports increased by 56.14% and consumption by 91.35%. (Ukrainian metal)
