On August 9, the State Service of Geology and Subsoil will hold another auction to sell subsoil with the reserves of copper ore at the Zalesy-Shmenki ore field with the size of 2336.7 ha in Volyn region.

R1 reserves amount to 160 thousand tons.

At present Ukraine does not extract copper. In 2020, the country imported $2.9 million worth of copper products, while exported $6.55 million mostly due to copper-containing scrap processing.

Previous auction was cancelled, as the winner did not pay in time. (Ukrainian metal)
