ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih supports the imposition of a ferrous scrap export ban until the end of 2023.
According to the company CEO Mauro Longobardo, the main buyers of Ukrainian scrap are Turkish metal plants. Using cheaper raw materials from Ukraine they later create competition for Ukrainian companies on their own market.
“Scrap goes to Turkey, and after that they sell us the same metal products that we also produce but cheaper. We allow them this ourselves”, he said. (Ukrainian metal)
