According to the Ministry of Finances, in January-August Russia produced 214.59 tons of gold, down by 7.5% YoY.

The decrease was due to the drop of secondary metal production (19.13 tons, down by 53.1%). Moreover, the amount of auxiliary metal decreased by 10.9%, to 11.31 tons. Extracted gold accounted for 184.15 tons, up by 3%.

Krasnoyarsk region accounted for the most share – 36.9 tons, Magadan region yielded 30.8 tons and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) – 25.1 tons.

Silver output decreased from 634.8 tons to 594.9 tons. The share of extracted metal was 284.9 tons, auxiliary – 220.9 tons and secondary – 89.18 tons.

Magadan region was the main silver-producing region with 100.8 tons, up by 20.5%. Yakutia increased output by 48.4% and the Republic of Buryatia – by 41.1%. (Ukrainian metal)
