As of September, debts to state miners have reached 900 million UAH.

According to the chairman of the Confederation of Independent Unions and the Independent Miners’ Union Mikhail Volynets, in October the debt will grow to 1.3 billion UAH.

“And the trend of the debt growth will persist. The miners will be forced to strike”, he said.

In particular, Buzhanskaya mine employees, a part of the state enterprise Volynugol, refused to return to the surface until their salary debts were cleared. So far 20% of their June salary, 100% of July salary and 80% of August salary have not been paid to them. (Ukrainian metal)
