Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) reduced its production of steel by 5% QoQ, to 3.992 million tons in April-June because of overhaul works at the blast furnace and basic oxygen furnace facilities, the company said in a statement on July 15.

Loading fell to 96% from 98%, and consolidated sales shrank by 7%, to 5.268 million tons.

In January-June production fell by 6% YoY, to 8.175 million tons. Loading decreased to 97% from 99%, but consolidated sales went up by 4%, to 8.882 million tons in line with growing demand for rolled metals in Russia and thanks to the sales of stocks accumulated at the end of 2018, NLMK said.
