In February Russia produced 3.75 million tons of pig iron, down by 5.7% YoY (4.15 million tons in January).
In 2 months pig iron output decreased by 6.8%, to 7.9 million tons.
Ukraine, although no longer a part of the CIS, produced 1.59 million tons of pig iron, down by 2.6% YoY (1.789 million tons). In January-February 3.379 million tons were produced, down by 6.5% YoY.
Kazakhstan in February manufactured 225 thousand tons of pig iron, down by 22.4% YoY (250 thousand tons in January). In 2 months output dropped by 21.4%, to 475 thousand tons.
All in all CIS countries in February produced 5.565 million tons of pig iron, down by 5.6% YoY (6.189 million tons in January). In January-February pig iron output decreased by 7.4% YoY, to 11.754 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
