In March, Russia produced 4.15 million tons of pig iron, down by 7.1% YoY, with 3.75 million tons produced in February.
In Q1 pig iron output dropped by 6.9% YoY, to 12.05 million tons.
Ukraine, though no longer a part of CIS, in March increased pig iron output by 9.3% YoY, to 1.834 million tons, having produced 1.59 million tons in February. In January-March, Ukraine produced 5.213 million tons of pig iron, down by 1.5%.
In March Kazakhstan produced 250 thousand tons of pig iron, down by 26.3% YoY, with 225 thousand tons produced in February. In 3 months pig iron output fell by 23.1% YoY, to 725 thousand tons.
All in all in March, CIS countries produced 6.234 million tons of pig iron, down by 3.9% YoY, with 5.565 million tons manufactured in February.
In Q1 pig iron output decreased by 6.2% YoY, to 17.988 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
