In December 2018 Russia produced 4.175 million tons of pig iron, down by 9.3% YoY (4.04 million tons in November 2018).
In the whole 2018 year pig iron output dropped by 1.6% YoY, to 51.2 million tons.
Ukraine, no longer a part of CIS, decreased pig iron output in December 2018 by 3%, to 1.832 million tons (1.642 million tons). In 12 months manufacture totaled 20.56 million tons, up by 2.2% YoY.
In December 2018 Kazakhstan produced 260 thousand tons of pig iron, down by 21.5% YoY (250 thousand tons).
In January-December 2018 the output dropped by 8.8% YoY, to 3.44 million tons.
All in all, in December 2018 CIS countries produced 6.267 million tons of pig iron, down by 8.2% YoY (5.932 million tons in November 2018). In 2018 the combined output was 75.2 million tons, down by 1% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
