Tax increase will not hinder development of the mining industry in Kyrgyzstan, mining engineer Duishenbek Kamchybekov declared.

According to him, after a meeting of the Security Council, where work of deposits was discussed, the International Business Council spoke against the decision.

“The International Business Council said that tax issues were burdensome for us. The tax burden in Kyrgyzstan is 18%, in Kazakhstan – 14%, and in Mongolia – 15%. IBC did not say that the tax burden in Tajikistan was 26%. At the same time, the mining industry is actively developing,” Duishenbek Kamchybekov stressed.

He added that the Association of Miners supported customs duty increase in export of gold ore.

“We do not say that it should be increased to 25%. We are talking about a slight increase of 3-5%,” Duishenbek Kamchybekov explained. (24.kg/Ukrainian metal)
