Under the program to diversify manufacture Chelyabinsk Zinc Works has produced a trial batch of tin-indium alloy.

The POIn-52 alloy contains 52% of indium and 48% of tin.

“The main advantage of the alloy is its low temperature of melting (121 degrees C). This allows it to unite thin wares, which are afraid of high temperature, for example, those made of copper”, the company engineering center director Vadim Nesmelov said.

The weight of the trial batch was 19.175 kg. (Ukrainian metal)
