Companies located in Magadan region produced 36.8 tons of gold in 2018, a record for the past 20 years, as the Natalka field of gold producer Polyus reached its projected capacity, the region’s government said in a statement on January 16.

Lode gold output in the region amounted to 18.9 tons, and alluvial gold production exceeded 17.8 tons last year.

Silver production stood at 696.4 tons, the statement read.

In 2019, Susumanzoloto is to launch production at a new gold field Shturmovskoye. The plant’s first stage will produce 200,000 tons of processed ore per year. The region forecasts gold production at 40 tons in 2019. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
