In September Russia produced 4.35 million tons of pig iron, up by 2% YoY, but down from 4.5 million tons in August.
In January-September pig iron output grew by 1.5% YoY, to 39.241 million tons.
Ukraine, though no longer a part of CIS, decreased pig iron output by 9.8% YoY, to 1.667 million tons in September (1.72 million tons in August), but increased in 9 months by 4.6%, to 15.306 million tons.
Kazakhstan produced 310 thousand tons of pig iron in September, up by 3.3% YoY (320 thousand tons in August), and 2.758 million tons in 9 months, down by 1.6%.
All in all CIS countries in September manufactured 6.327 million tons of pig iron, down by 1.4% YoY (6.54 million tons in August), and 57.305 million tons in 9 months, up by 2.2%. (Ukrainian metal)
