A cave-in occurred at the Mine named after Kapustin, where miners were striking against the non-payment of salary.

“It is estimated that 10 meters of rock collapsed. It was in that mine that 16 protesting miners and a people’s deputy Sergey Kaplin were”, Mikhail Volynets, chairman of the Independent Miners’ Union of Ukraine reported.

According to him, if nothing is done to clear debts, more mines will join the strike.

The strikers have been in the mine for 10 days already. Last week there were 23 of them, but some had to quit striking due to the health problems. (Ukrainian metal)
