After a three-month warming of the refractory lining Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works has switched the coke oven plant No. 4 to constant warming.
The first coke is expected to be produced in late 2018.
“The investment project valued at 6 billion rubles will increase coke output at the plant from 420 thousand tons to 460 thousand tons per year. The new plant will operate mostly on the mixture of blast furnace and coke gases, which will allow quickly regulating temperature and obtaining high-quality coke”, Severstal Russian Steel CEO Vadim Germanov said.
