In July loading of ferrous metals increased by 8.2% YoY, to 6.6 million tons.

Since the beginning of the year the railroad has transported 46.1 million tons of ferrous metals, up by 11.6% YoY.

The increase in July was due both to local (+10%) and export (+20%) transportation.

Deliveries to Taiwan grew 2.6-fold, to Italy – 1.7-fold and to Turkey – by 20%.

At the same time the situation could change.

Last year steel consumption in Russia increased by 6.5% YoY, while this year the growth rate is slower at around 2%, while earlier the growth of 4% has been expected. (Ukrainian metal)
