In January-March Russia imported 1.82 million tons of ferrous metals, up by 29.9% YoY.

In March imports grew by 35% MoM, to 0.7 million tons.

According to the Federal Customs Service, ferrous metals imports, not counting pig iron, ferroalloys, wastes and scrap, totaled 1.356 million tons, up by 12.2% YoY, with 0.522 million tons imported in March, up by 33% MoM.

Steel pipes imports dropped by 7.6%, to 0.133 million tons. In March Russia imported 0.047 million tons, up by 9.2% MoM.

Metal and metal wares share in Q1 imports was 7.1%, up from 6.8% in Q1 2017. The share of such imports from far foreign countries was 5.7% (5.5%), and from CIS – 18.5% (16.6%). (Ukrainian metal)
