In January-August Russia imported 5.097 million tons of ferrous metals, up by 0.3% YoY, with 0.662 million tons imported in August, down by 18.7% MoM.

According to the Federal Customs Service, the import of ferrous metals not counting pig iron, ferroalloys, wastes and scrap totaled 4.079 million tons, up by 2.3%. In August purchases decreased by 19.3%, to 0.524 million tons.

The import of steel pipes in 8 months grew by 108.6% YoY, to 0.735 million tons, with 0.175 million tons purchased in August, up by 127.4% MoM. (Ukrainian metal)
