The Far East Development minister Alexander Galushka during his working trip to China has held a number of meetings with the local businesses.

In particular, he held talks with the Minmetals Corporation.

The corporation is eyeing the development of the Malmyzh copper-porphyry deposits in Khabarovsk region.

The deposits reserves amount to 5.6 million tons of cooper and 278 tons of gold (8.94 million ounces), while resources – 3.3 million tons of copper and 151 tons of gold (4.85 million ounces).

Investments in Malmyzh are estimated at $1.5 billion (construction of a mining and processing works with the capacity of 30 million tons of ore per year for 25-37 years). (Ukrainian metal)
