Major metal companies believe that the favorable trends of 2017 will persist this year as well.
Last year Russia produced 71.3 million tons of steel, up by 2.4% YoY.
Rolled metal output grew slightly – by 0.7%, to 60.9 million tons. Pig iron manufacture grew even less – by 0.55%, to 52.2 million tons.
It is expected that this year Russia will consume 41.7 million tons of steel against 40.6 million tons in 2017. (Ukrainian metal)
