Gold ore concentrate from Altynken field is transported to Kazakhstan, not to China, Almaz Alimbekov, Chairman of the Board of Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC said at a meeting with parliament deputy Akylbek Zhamangulov.
According to him, in 2016 deputies of the parliamentary committee on the fuel, energy complex and subsoil use recommended Kyrgyzaltyn and Altynken to refuse the export of ore for processing to China. The wish of the deputies was fulfilled only last year.
As of today, the concentrate from Altynken is sent to Kazakhstan on tolling conditions.
In 2017 Altynken LLC produced 1,515 tons of gold. At least 755,931.2 kilograms were returned on tolling terms (processing of foreign raw materials with subsequent export of finished products). The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan purchased 755,515.2 kg of gold.
More than 2,500 employees work at Altynken. A little more than 50 of them are foreign specialists.
“The deputies recommended us to change the system of extracting gold from ore so that we can conduct a procedure in Kyrgyzstan. We are working on it. At present, two types of technology are considered for production of Dore gold from concentrate – roasting and leaching,” Almaz Alimbekov declared. (24.kg/Ukrainian metal)
