The state enterprise Ukrpromvneshexpertisa believes that in February ferrous scrap prices will increase by 2.56% MoM, or by 200 UAH per ton.

“At present the price is around 7800 UAH (per ton). That’s some 700 UAH more than in mid-December 2017. I think by the end of the month it will have increased by 200 UAH”, the company deputy director Yuri Dobrovolsky said.

The increase will be the result of the favorable foreign market situation as well as the positive dynamics of rolled metal prices.

In December 2017 Ukraine produced 1.9 million tons of steel, and in January the output will be 50-70 thousand tons higher, which will also increase scrap prices. (Ukrainian metal)
