In 2017 Chukotka region yielded 25.348 tons of gold, down by 13.14% YoY. Silver output dropped by 19.59%, to 130.839 tons.

Alluvial gold output reached 2327.35 kg, up by 9.5% YoY. Ore gold extracting decreased by 14.92% YoY, to 23.021 tons, mostly because of the thinning of reserves.

Last year the regional authorities expected gold output to reach 27 tons. The drop in output resulted in the budget not receiving some 1.5 billion rubles.

In 2016 Chukotka obtained 29.184 tons of gold and 162.716 tons of silver, down by 9.17% and up by 4.12% YoY respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
