In January-September Russia imported 4.988 million tons of ferrous metals, up 1.53-fold YoY.

The share of far foreign countries in the total import structure was 1.794 million tons, that of CIS countries – 3.194 million tons (1.13 million and 2.118 million tons in 9 months of 2016 respectively).

Ferrous metals imports not counting pig iron, ferroalloys, wastes and scrap also grew – from 2.705 million tons to 4.257 million tons.

CIS countries accounted for 2.587 million tons (1.653 million tons), far foreign countries – 1.671 million tons (1.051 million tons).

Steel pipes imports increased from 0.331 million tons to 0.555 million tons, with CIS countries supplying 0.291 million tons (0.193 million tons) and far foreign countries – 0.264 million tons (0.139 million tons). (Ukrainian metal)
